We were asked to film the Nutcracker 2012 this year in Homer, Alaska. This project was filmed from 7 different angles, during 4 separate shows. We cut and edit the 2 hour film in less then 16 hours from all angles to have ready for the following weekends shows and after party. This has been a really fun and challenging project. We do not have full movie online but if you would like to purchase a DVD, please contact josh@jgsconcepts.com.
We will have a small teaser/behind the scenes video online soon for digital download.

Ted's Express, new high speed quad @ Alyeska Resort
JGS Concepts is working with Alyeska Ski Resort during the 2012 | 2013 Winter season to create video episodes about the Resort. This is the first episode we created for Alyeska about the all new High Speed quad chairlift that was installed over the 2012 Summer.

The 2012/13 Ski Season will feature a couple major upgrades to Alyeska Resort; most notably a new high-speed quad to replace Chair 4 as well as a trail widening and grading project at the base of Chair 6.
Alyeska is very excited about the new high-speed quad that will be replacing Chair 4. Ted's Express will be in the identical footprint of the old Chair 4 to minimize construction damage to the mountain. Ted's Express estimated trip time from base to top is 5 minutes, shaving about 10 minutes off per lap giving our skiers and riders more vertical for their buck. Skiers will gain 1,348 vertical feet in elevation over a 4,300-foot distance at a speed of 1,000 feet per minute.

Behind the Scenes of "Alaska Downhill Brigade"
Winner of the 2012 Alaska Adventure film festival
Design: Kristopher Brons
Filmer | Photographer Info and links:
Below is a quick background on the people who helped make this project happen. Without the knowledge and skill of the people involved these kinds of projects would never happen. Take a second and check out some of the works from the below filmers, photographers and athletes.
Kristopher Brons is a pro snowboarder who coaches with Team BIG Alaska in the winters and also works directly with JGS Concepts with most everything we do. Kris is a huge part of JGS Concepts. With Kris's engineering mind frame we are able to create our own custom built film equipment for a 1/4 of the cost. He has helped design and construct most of the film equipment we used making this video. Kris also has an open eye for getting the shots required in making a film. Without having Kris on our team we would not be able to fully complete the projects we have completed with the style we try so hard for. In the future we will have another web page with some of our custom film equipment designs. We will have how to videos along with equipment for sale that everyone will be able to afford.
Dmitry Surnin is a filmer and editor based in Anchorage Alaska. We have worked with Dmitry on a few projects over the last year. Dmitry has a natural eye for getting the shot and has extensive knowledge about cameras and editing. Dmitry did not only just help film this project but is working with us on creating the final product. With his knowledge in editing and color correction this film will be one of the best created by JGS and Associates to date.
Mikey Huff is a photographer | filmer based out of Anchorage, AK. We have worked on many projects over the last couple years with Mikey. His attention for detail is amazing. Mikey went out of his element of photography to help us shoot behind the scenes video on this project. Without Mikey we would not have been able to capture a behind the scenes video with this project. Check out some more of Mikey's work.
Facebook/mikeyhuff
This was the first time we have worked with Justin Frazier. Seeing his style and final products blew us away. Justin is a very driven photographer and filmer We are excited to continue working with Justin in all our future projects. If you would like to see more of Justin's work and see what drives him check out his website at: www.frazier-photo.com
Athletes | Riders:
Kevin Murphy moved to AK and started riding in the summer of 1999. Kevin has worked at bike shops over the years building his passion even stronger for the sport he loves. Kevin also races mountain bikes and says he enjoys the mental and physical challenges that come with completing long distance endurance races. Kevin recently traveled to Bend, OR with his Giant Rep Paul LaCava to compete in a 100 mile mountain bike race.
Kyle Armbrust is a professional freestyle snowmobile athlete. Part of Kyle's summers include staying in shape and training by mountain biking. Kyle's ability's to freestyle in the professional snow machine world show in his mountain biking ability's.
Brennon Berg is a 25 year old rider from Anchorage Alaska. Brennon has been rider for two years. He rides a specialized demo 7 and mainly rides single tracks, down hill, jumps, drops and gaps. "The world is a playground and I try to make every possible piece of terrain something fun to hit"
-Brennon Berg-
David Fozz also works at Alyeska Ski Resort on the trail crew. Fozz took a fall while our shoot and broke his had pretty bad, ending up having surgery. We all hope for a speedy recovery so he can get back to what he loves sooner then later.
Sean Dunn grew up racing bmx in southern California. He moved to Lake Tahoe for nine years getting into downhill biking. Sean has lived in Alaska for the last four years, working and riding out at Alyeska Resort. Sean would like to thank Paul for hooking him up with his Kona bike and the girls at crash pads out of Oregon.
Jake Young is the man behind the scenes at Alyeska Resort who builds and designs the trails. Without Jake and the trail crew, this project would have never happened. Jake got into downhill mountain biking about 12 years ago. Back in the day he said he would push his bike up to 6,000ft in south central Alaska just to ride. Jake worked in BC on the mountain bike trail crew before he moved back to Alaska to work with Alyeska building trails. This is Jake's third year on the Alyeska Trail Crew and is excited to see the whole project starting to take shape. We all would like to send out many thanks for his efforts and ideas for making the mountain bike trails at Alyeska happen and continue to grow.

Pretty Faces, Part of an all girl ski movie
A few of us went out into the backcountry of Alaska for 5 days to find lines and work on some film projects for SheJumps. We all left from Girdwood, AK and drove to Seward, AK for 2 days to search for safe and good snow conditions. After spending two days flying and Snowmobiling in search with limited $$ we decided to head further north up into Turnigain and Whittier. We successfully shot some good video footage and photo's for a portfolio and video teaser to show the upcoming project for she jumps. We would like to thank all the sponsors and people who made this project happen over the last few days and plan to continue filming over the next year.

Port Au Prince, Haiti Missions Trip
I just returned from Port au Prince, Haiti. I joined a group of guys and went down on a mission trip to help out for a week. I will be adding many videos, photo's and blog postings over the next couple weeks. For now here is a bit of what is to come.
CLICK either of the Photo's to be directed to more photo's from our trip.
I created this video for friends and family to watch and see some of what we did down in Haiti last week. I am working on another edit with much more story board and many other things that will go with this video but more in depth.
The 2010 Haiti earthquake was a catastrophic magnitude 7.0. The quake occurred Tuesday, January 12, 2010. The Haitian government reported that an estimated 316,000 people had died, 300,000 injured and 1,000,000 made homeless. It was also estimated 250,000 residences and 30,000 commercial buildings had collapsed. Amongst the widespread devastation and damage throughout Port au Prince and elsewhere, vital infrastructure necessary to respond to the disaster was severely damaged or destroyed. This included all hospitals in the capital; air, sea, and land transport facilities; and communication systems. Roads were blocked with debris or the surfaces were broken. The deputy mayor of Leogane reported that 90% of the town’s buildings had been destroyed. In the nights following the earthquake, many people in Haiti slept in the streets, on pavements, in cars, or in makeshift shantytowns either because their houses had been destroyed, or they feared standing structures would not withstand aftershocks. Construction standards are very low in Haiti; the country has no building codes. Slow distribution of resources in the days after the earthquake resulted in major violence. There were also accounts of looters wounded or killed by vigilantes and neighborhoods that had constructed their own roadblock barricades. Port Au Prince’s morgues were quickly overwhelmed with tens of thousands of bodies having to be buried in mass graves. Many organizations such as Global Partners [who we went with] have dedicated themselves to help the relief project of Haiti for the last two years and continue to rebuild Haiti as we speak. I typed this up pretty quick so you can get a better idea if you had none about how bad it is still in Haiti. I will be starting a new web page dedicated to Missions, helping and how you can get involved if you would like. Thanks for watching and reading. Together we can make this world a better place for people in need.

Gregory Peck-USA Paralympic Ski Team
On January 16, 2012 Gregory Peck was made part of the United States Paralympic Ski Team. Gregory would like to thank everyone involved in his hard work to become part of all of this. Without the support from family and sponsors this would not have happened. He would also like to give a huge shout out to God, Greg says he could not have done any of this without his faith.
Greg will be updating his pages after the Winter X Games himself, but he is so busy with training and getting ready, we at JGS Concepts are helping out as much as we can.
Greg has been training hard just finishing up a great training session on January 13 & 14, and coaching others with what he has been so gifted with.
Greg is gearing up for the 2012 Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado. He has been training, coaching and competing in events all winter long to be 100% ready for Winter X Games.
Greg has many other comps this winter he will be taking part of. One of the other big competitions is Arctic Man In Alaska.
Greg has a featured part in Arctic Man: The Movie. Being only the second adaptive skier in Arctic Man Greg has made a huge impression in the main directors eyes and this year in April there is officially an adaptive race section being brought to Arctic Man. The Movie is also being premiered in Alaska, North Dakota, Montana, Wyoming. Oregon, and Colorado in February and March of 2012 before the 2012 Arctic Man Race.
